What does the role of Mechanical Fitter at RECO Hoist Hire & Sales entail?

At RECO Hoist Hire & Sales in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dynamic team. As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a pivotal role in the preparation and assembly of construction hoists, ensuring they meet stringent company and manufacturer standards. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work on cutting-edge equipment, engage your mechanical and electrical knowledge, and contribute to the smooth operation of construction projects.

Your responsibilities will include;

• Repairing, preparing, and assembling construction hoists before delivery.
• Identifying, sorting, and preparing ancillary hoist equipment.
• Proficiently identifying various makes and models of hoists within our fleet.
• Reading and interpreting manufacturers' drawings, including identifying part numbers.
• Demonstrating proficient use of both hand and power tools as required.
• Operating a high-pressure washer correctly.
• Utilizing workshop tools and equipment effectively.

Are you the right person?

• Mechanical and electrical knowledge required
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation covering lifting equipment.
• Experience of using both hand and power tools.
• Ability to work efficiently while under pressure.
• Working From Heights ( Desired)
• A PAT testing qualification (Desired)
• Previous experience in hoist (Desired)
