We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lifting Equipment Inspector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of our lifting equipment through thorough examinations, on-site inspections, and completion of any necessary training and repairs required.

What does the role of Lifting Equipment Inspector at RECO Hoist Hire & Sales entail? 

As an Equipment Inspector  you'll oversee the safety and quality of our lifting equipment. Conducting thorough examinations and PAT testing, 

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Travel to customer sites throughout the UK to complete thorough examinations on all lifting equipment and accessories.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess the condition and safety of the equipment, identifying any issues or defects.
  • Complete any necessary training and repairs required to ensure that lifting equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform PAT Testing on all required equipment to assess electrical safety.
  • Complete working at height PPE thorough examinations, including inspecting harnesses, lanyards, and other safety gear.
  • Conduct weekly checks of equipment in line with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
  • Report any repairs and maintenance required for lifting equipment promptly and accurately.
  • Complete relevant paperwork, documenting inspection findings, test results, and any actions taken.
  • Ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times during inspections and maintenance activities.

Job requirements

Are you the right person?

  • A PAT testing qualification and CSCS card preferable but training will be provided for the right candidate. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation covering lifting equipment.
  • Must hold a full clean UK Driving licence.
  • Ability to travel to our customer sites throughout the UK.
  • Ability to work efficiently while under pressure.
